Multiple Solutions

If Calchemy does something strange, like show more than one answer, you can request that Calchemy show you the actual equation(s) it solved. In the web version you do this by marking the "Show interpretations" box on the Calchemy Live equation entry form.

Calchemy will show more than one answer if there is more than one interpretation of the equation. If you are using solve by dimensional analysis you will get more than one answer if there are two or more parameters having the same units (or one dimensionless parameter) separated by semicolons. In some rare cases, using overloaded units can also produce multiple solutions.
